Werbena patagońska mimo, że jest rośliną wieloletnią, w polskich warunkach klimatycznych musimy traktować ją, jako roślinę jednoroczną. Do niedawna nieznana, obecnie robi furorę wśród architektów zieleni i właścicieli ogrodów. Tworzy luźne, delikatne, zwiewne kępy wzniesionych, owłosionych pędów dorastających do 150 cm wysokości. W uprawach pojawiły się także odmiany, które są niskie i dorastają do 60 cm. Największe zainteresowanie budzi jednak gatunek. Na szczytach cienkich pędów w lipcu pojawiają różowo-liliowe kwiatki zebrane w nieduże główki, które przyozdabiają roślinę do końca jesieni, a także zimą kiedy nadal są ozdobą ogrodu. Roślina zwabia pszczoły i kolorowe motyle. Ma wielorakie zastosowanie. Dzięki lekkiemu pokrojowi roślinę możemy wysadzać w dowolnym miejscu ogrodu.
